...age 83, of Sebewaing, took Jesus's hand peacefully in her earthly home on April 26, 2024 and followed him to the Church Triumphant. 

Gretchen was born in Sebewaing on November 10, 1940, to Gustav and Mabel (Wissner) Kausch. She grew up on the family farm and did numerous chores. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School graduated from Sebewaing High School, Class of 1958. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a member of the Mary Martha Guild. Gretchen enjoyed gardening, canning, entertaining and baking. She will be remembered for being gracious, cheerful, thankful and kind.

Gretchen is survived by her daughters: Beth (Dean) Kuhl, Laura LaBair and Carol Maust; her adopted daughters: Renee Majeski and Debbie Kubacki; brother, Curtis (Ann) Kausch; grandchildren: Chad, Rachel, Ryan, Sarah, Haley, Hayden, Troy, Kyle, Adam, Dustin and Dylan; great grandchildren: Elsie, Harper, Jace and Emma; son-in-law, Jamie Ewald; sister-in-laws: Diana Kausch, Lois Harcourt and JoAnn Fitchner.

Preceeded in death by her parents and brothers: Frederick Kausch and infant Roger Kausch.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 12pm. Pastor Peter Orlando will be officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church (Endowment Fund) or Word of Faith Christian Church.
