Driver Safety Course

OAM hosted the AARP Driver Safety course on April 25-26. Twenty seniors attended with 17 completing the two 4-hr sessions. The instructor was Deputy Warren Kuhl of the Huron County Sheriff’s department.

 
Turkey Dinner Good Shepherd 

Turkey Dinner
Seventeen seniors from our area (4 guests) enjoyed the annual turkey meal at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City, on Sunday, April 7.

 

Your Older Adults Ministry (OAM) committee promotes the wellness events that occur about this time of year. Here are two: 1) Spark in the Park scheduled on Friday, May 31 at Pigeon Recreation Park, 3:00 - 7:00 pm. It’s sponsored by Scheurer Hospital. 2) Huron County Senior Wellness and Educational Fair on Friday, June 14 at Bad Axe High School gymnasium, 10:00 am till 2:00 pm. Both events are free.

 

SUMMER: OWLs will be traveling to Bay City area to visit our shut-ins. Date is Monday, July 8, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. We have Immanuel members in several care facilities and we plan to sing and visit with them and others. Mark your calendar and plan to join us. On Saturday, August 24, OWLs will sit at welcome tables at the annual Sebewaing Country Market. We always look forward to serving our community in this special way.

 

LOOKING AHEAD: Plans for the 2019-20 season of activity for OWLs is shaping up nicely. Watch for your booklet of events to be placed in your church mailboxes by July 1. We invite you to participate as often as you can.

Wednesday Bible Study

Wednesday morning Bible Class is led by Pastor Reed in the Great Room. Our current study is the Book of Exodus.
 

Worship at Medallion Village

10:30-11:00 am, 3rd Tuesday of every month

Spiritual enrichment for all ages, but especially for seniors:  Use your daily devotion guide, Portals of Prayer. Each issue contains a treasury of prayers along with the daily readings.  Also, watch "WORSHIP ANEW".  This fine Lutheran program is shown every Sunday morning at 11:30 on channel 49, as well as on Comcast (ch 8 or 237HD), on DISH network (ch 49), and DIRECTV (ch 377).  It's also on the web at WorshipAnew.org.
